Bourchier Street Children 'Welcome to Country'

Bourchier Street Primary School children open the Annual Fairley Foundation Lecture at La trobe University, Shepparton campus, with a spectacular 'Welcome to Country' on the the 19th of July. Thank you to the families, Bourchier Street staff for helping the boys involved. It was a great start to the evening, giving custodians the opportunity to formally welcome people to their land. This acknowledgement pays respect to the traditional custodians, ancestors and continuing cultural, spiritual and religious practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Further, it provides an increasing awareness and recognition of Australia’s Indigenous peoples and cultures.
